Christianity: Beliefs Vs Actions

April 4, 2008 · 1 Comment

I had originally written out a huge post, but in the end it just got me more pissed off than I wanted to be.

Basically it was about Christianity’s placing of having belief in God above active non-judgemental social justice to other people, in terms of what is important to be a good Christian.

What the fuck?!  Does that mean that when God is making a decision on your life, he will be like “well you did help a lot of people, but you had some doubts about whether I existed, whereas Hitler here was always going on about Jesus.  Hitler, you come this way, but you, you are gonna have to follow that flamey guy over there”

I think if it was the other way around, and more importance was placed on tolerance and helping others, there would be have been a lot less problems in the world over the last couple of millennia.  Also it would have helped if someone hadn’t  invented money.

I don’t understand how someone can be more pissed off than they wanted to be. Yes we go off on tangents and stick to our guns, but we wouldn’t say something if we didn’t believe it. Reminds me of a story about a church in America… the sermon for the day was something along the lines of “Help the poor as it is what Jesus would do”. Whilst the sermon was being given though, there was a homeless person sitting on the steps of the church that had clearly slept there that night, so all of these church goers thought that was a bit wrong and pretty much threw him out. Could they be any more stupid? Most of these mother fuckers think going to church will relieve them of their guilt, only to drive home in their import cars and bang someone elses wife.
